Helping citizens of South Africa get rewarded for “loadshedding”

cover2.png
The challenge
South Africa is in the mid of an energy crisis and citizens are being “loadshedded”, where areas have their electricity cut off at designated times to reduce the load on the energy grid. Uticity gives the citizen the option to choose when they would like to be loadshed and are rewarded if they do, giving back citizens their freedom.

The process
The design thinking process was used for this app since it empathises with the user and is an iterative and user-centric solution. Competitor apps were analysed, a sitemap was drawn up and wireframes were created.
